WW: Max Monster

One of the things Max and I used to do to amuse each other was draw. As a preschooler, Max would request a bus, a truck, a pigeon. Whatever he asked for I’d bang it out with a crayon. Sometimes we’d collaborate. Together we did a poster for the cartoon The Replacements when he was around 5, and five years later, the giant drawing is still hanging over his bed despite the ratty edges. The image I’m posting here is another collaboration. It’s a linocut print done from his drawing of a monster—double-faced no less—according to 5 y.o. Max, you’re supposed to turn it upside down to get the second face. I think it’s wicked cool.
