nose-pickersEverybody picks their nose. Adults are just more discreet than children. Reader and writer Amy Wall Lerman asked, “Where do boogers go after they’re flicked into the air?” Which leads me to conduct this survey. Maybe you don’t really want to know. But maybe you do because you know boogers don’t magically disappear. Could they be caking the underside of the chair you’re sitting on right now?

Which in turn leads me to this next question: How many households have a Booger Wall? They are usually found right next to the child’s bed. One day you decide it’s time to vacuum that corner of his bedroom, so you push aside the bed and lo and behold layers of boogers to reflect the geologic time scale of that room. Dan Santat (children’s book illustrator) told folks on Facebook that he found a Booger Wall by his son’s bed, so I know this is not a unique phenomenon.

Boogers seem to just disappear. They are flicked away with disgust but then they are no where to be found. Trust me…I’ve searched. As for a booger wall…if I have one, it has yet to be discovered.

Hahah Booger twilight zone. They must’ve landed in a wormhole disguised as a nostril.
